Our Activities
The entire ideology of the Ramakrishna tradition has been put into a nut shell by Swami Vivekananda as आत्मनो मोक्षार्थम् जगत् हिताय च – Atmano Moksartham Jagat Hitaya Cha – “for one’s own salvation and for the welfare of the world”. And it is for that we, devotees, volunteers, renunciates strive and live for. All our thoughts, planning and activities are to fulfil that end. Implementation of this ideology in the Ashrama finds its expression in each and every activity we take up. Sri Ramakrishna Sharada Ashrama – the missionary and service wing largely focuses on the external service activities – the activities which will help elevate the living of public directly.
The Primary and main focus of this trust is the execution and building up Viveka-Darshan, the cultural, spiritual and educational centre on Swami Vivekananda with the Global Monument of Swami Vivekananda being its epi-centre.
Some of other public service activities include organizing public discourses (Satsanghas), through our Vyaktitva Vikasana Vibhag (VVB) organizing the Personality Development Programmes, Residential Camps for Students, Yogasana Shibiras, Speak Samskrit Camps for promotion of Samskrit as spoken language, Vasanthakalaravam – summer camps for students, distribution of ration and daily need kits during the times of Covid-19 any other such times of public calamity, dress distribution to the needy and underprivileged girl children are some of the activities carried under this trust. We also provide financial aid to the deserving students of wanting background in our own little way.
The other external activities we jointly organize with the other wings of Bailurmath include the birthday celebrations of Sri Ramakrishna, Sri Maa Sharada Devi and Swami Vivekananda and Kalpataru day (1st Jan), Independence Day, Environmental Day, MahaShivarati, Guru poornima, Ganesh Chathurthi, Krishnashtami, Durga Puja etc.,. We also provide platform for the promoting music and art by giving platform for various classical singers and classical instrument professionals. We also cater to needs of Sadhus and Mataji’s of Ashrama which includes food and other needs to the extent we can.
